Volunteer Recognition Event 2024

Our third recognition event was held on Wednesday 5 June.

The event was hosted by Susan Daniels, one of our amazing Trustees who has been personally affected by lymphoma. She was joined by staff members from across the Charity and presented 40 service awards and 11 outstanding commendations.

Your volunteering achievements

Volunteering in 2023: 4,234 volunteers hours, 942 volunteering activities, £23.5k raised by volunteers.
Volunteering in 2023: 36 new volunteers, 256 volunteers, 125 volunteer enquiries, 314 hours spent in training, 2,590 hours giving direct support, 494 hours providing insights and guidance to support our work, 612 hours raising funds and awareness, 62 hours helping our work 'behind the scenes'. Awarded the Investing in Volunteers (IiV) accreditation.

In previous years...

  • We held our first online recognition event on Monday 6 June 2022, where we launched our new awards and commendations alongside other recognition initiatives. Our Director of Services, Dallas, hosted the event and presented 128 service awards and 32 outstanding commendations. 
  • Our second recognition event was held on Monday 5 June 2023 and was hosted by broadcaster Emma Forbes and journalist and author Sarah Standing, who have been personally affected by lymphoma. Every presentation I give about our services, I say the word ‘volunteer’ dozens of times, because everywhere there is Lymphoma Action, there are volunteers like you. We could not do what we do as well as we do it without all of you.
