Thank you to our Virtual Santa Runners!

Published on: 9 December 2020

We are delighted with the success of our first ever Virtual Santa Run, and want to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in support of our work.

Marie

Across the 5 and 6 December, Lymphoma Action supporters across the UK donned their best festive gear to spread some Christmas cheer and raise funds to support people affected by lymphoma. Our Virtual Santa Run encouraged people to ask friends and family to sponsor them to complete a festive 5k run or walk in their local area, as long as they stayed safe and followed the most up to date Government COVID-19 guidelines.

Our wonderful supporter Marie took part with her ‘virtual team’. Although they couldn’t run together, Marie and her friends, family and colleagues ran in their local areas and raised over £3000!

“It was an amazing day” says Marie. “I was really touched by how many people came out to support me, and I am overwhelmed by the amount raised for Lymphoma Action. I cannot speak highly enough of the support the Charity has given me since my diagnosis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. You never really know the work that charities do until you need it yourself, and I am in awe of the work that goes on behind the scenes at Lymphoma Action to support others in the same situation as me.”

“We would like to say a massive thank you to Marie and her supporters, and to everyone who has taken part in our Virtual Santa Run” says Sarah Thorn, Partnerships Manager at Lymphoma Action. “We are so grateful for their support as, through funds raised by events like this, we can continue our work in making a difference to the lives of people affected by lymphoma.”
