A group of young friends have raised more than £10,500 for Lymphoma Action. The four boys, aged between 10 and 12 raised the incredible sum after they all shaved their heads in a gesture of solidarity. Wilfrid Willmott, Edmund Willmott, Oscar Rooney and Orlando Civardi wanted to raise money for Lymphoma Action as Oscar’s brother Fergus, aged 8, is currently undergoing chemo treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The boys were blown away when almost instantly they exceeded their fundraising target of £400.

“We were inspired to fundraise for Lymphoma Action as we found the book Tom Has Lymphoma so helpful.  It was literally WhatsApp’d and emailed around friends and family. I think the adults found it as useful as the children - worth more than £10,000 - it was invaluable” says Wilfrid and Edmund’s Mum, Claire Willmott.

“We were so surprised at everyone’s incredible generosity, we couldn’t believe they managed to raise so much within days of setting up a fundraising page. The support has been amazing and for something so positive to happen at such a horrible time was really special” she concludes.

The funds raised will enable us to provide vital information and support to people affected by lymphoma. If you are feeling inspired by the boys’ efforts you could take on a Big Hair Dare of your own to show your support for people affected by lymphoma.
