We're here for you if you have lost a loved one

To lose a loved one at any time can be incredibly difficult, and it can bring with it many challenges and emotions.

If you have been bereaved, this may be due to lymphoma or related to COVID-19. We are here for you, and there are many ways in which we can support you.

We understand that when you lose a loved one, it can be an incredibly difficult time. Sometimes this can be a sudden loss, or it may be something you have been expecting. Either way, it can be a shock and deeply distressing.

If you have been bereaved, you may be feeling lots of different emotions. You may feel angry and cheated, you may feel numb or frightened about what this means for the life you had together, or you may feel guilty at being the one left behind. How you are feeling can change over time, and even day-to-day. Some days you may feel overwhelmed, and other days may feel easier. However you are feeling, it is likely to be a normal reaction to what you have been through.

We have a number of services available that you might like to use. Some might be right for you now, or you might like to come back and revisit this page another time.

Our helpline

Our confidential helpline is here for you. Our helpline offers information and support, and at difficult times we can offer you time to talk, a listening ear, and some emotional support. You can call us just to talk and off-load. If you'd just like us to be with you whilst you talk about what has happened, you can call us. And if you want to express whatever feelings you have right now: positive or negative, you can do this with us.

Our helpline is open from 10am to 3pm, Monday to Friday on freephone 0808 808 5555. you can read more about the service here.

Our information

We have some information about bereavement and grief that you may find helpful. This has been written for anyone experiencing the loss of a loved one due to lymphoma, and it contains some helpful information and links to sources of support.

GriefChat

GriefChat is a service where you can chat online with a specialist bereavement counsellor. This service is confidential, and is provided to us through the organisation MuchLoved. It is a free service, and you need to be aged 18 or over to use it. Their GriefChat counsellors can talk to you about how you are feeling, and can help you to identify other sources of information and support if that would be helpful for you. The service is open from 9am to 9pm, Monday to Friday, and you can access it by clicking on the button at the bottom of your screen.

Our dedication page

We have set up a specific dedication tribute page where you can share your thoughts and messages if you have lost a loved one. Here you can post a message, and a photo if you like, as a dedication.

However you are feeling, you are welcome to post a message to share with other people who may be going through something similar.

Visit our dedication tribute page here.

Donate in memory of a loved one
