International Clinical Trials Day 2024

Today, 20 May marks the 10th anniversary of Clinical Trials Day. This is an opportunity for us to celebrate everything that has been achieved thanks to clinical trials.
On this day 250 years ago, James Lind, a ship’s surgeon in the Royal British Navy, undertook the first clinical trial to find the treatment for scurvy. Incredibly, he did indeed find a cure and changed the health of the entire British Navy. This shows how influential clinical trials can be, and their impact is just as important today.
Clinical trials would not be able to happen without the clinical research professionals behind them. They are the trailblazers who work every day to come up with new ways to treat diseases, always with patient’s wellbeing in mind. It is thanks to them that all the treatments we use today in the UK for lymphoma are approved and available.
