Mark Harrison officially became our Chair of Trustees on 9 May – taking over from Gordon Johns, who is stepping down at the end of his ten-year term. Having joined the Board at a similar time to his predecessor Gordon, Mark takes the post with an invaluable understanding of our culture and values.

"It is just over ten years since I joined the Board at Lymphoma Action, and how time flies when I’m doing something that I find motivating and rewarding” says Mark. “I was first drawn to Lymphoma Action as I saw a charity that was making a real and tangible difference to many people and to my family. My father was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) in 2010. Lymphoma Action’s unwavering support and commitment, typifies everything that the Charity does and will continue to do.”

“We are thrilled to announce Mark’s appointment” says Ropinder Gill, Chief Executive at Lymphoma Action. “The fact that we found our new Chair within our existing Trustees says a lot about Mark and the Board that he has been a part of for many years. Mark’s experience will be hugely valuable to the Charity and our supporters as we continue to strive to make sure that no one faces lymphoma alone.”

Mark concludes: “It’s a privilege to be appointed to Chair the Trustee Board. I get a lot of personal satisfaction from being involved with the Charity. I'm very proud of the tremendous work it does for a very large number of people and I think that it is poised to grow and, therefore, be able to help even more people in different ways. It's an exciting proposition and as long as I continue to have something to be able to give, then that's where my interest will stay.”
