National Grief Awareness Week, 2–8 December 2021

Published on: 2 December 2021

The Good Grief Trust’s National Grief Awareness week aims to raise awareness of all aspects of grief, its potential impacts and how you can support someone else through a bereavement.

NGAW 2021 v2

While no one can pretend to know exactly what another person’s grief feels like, what we can be sure of is that it’s a highly personal experience. Some people describe anger, feeling cheated, numb, fearful, lost – but these are just some of the huge range of feelings that can come with the loss of a loved one. Some days might feel overwhelming, while others feel a bit easier.

As part of National Grief Awareness week, The Good Grief Trust has a variety of online and in-person events. They have a vision of normalising grief and bereavement, turning them from taboos into something that people can talk about openly and find support with.
