Will you talk lymphoma with us?
Published on: 1 September 2024It's Blood Cancer Awareness Month! How will you help us shine a light on the UK’s fifth most common cancer?
September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), and every year we invite people to come together to raise awareness and funds to support people affected by lymphoma, the UK’s most common blood cancer.
Last year’s BCAM was our biggest ever, with more than 450 supporters answering our call to help – including 75 hospitals. This year, we are on a mission to do even more through our Let’s talk lymphoma campaign.
As well as raising awareness about lymphoma with family, friends and colleagues, we want to get information into GP surgeries and community pharmacies so as many people as possible know about lymphoma -what it is, how to spot it and where to find help. And of course, by raising funds to support our work you can help us support even more people to make sure no one faces lymphoma alone.
There are lots of ways that you can get involved in our Let’s talk lymphoma campaign:
- Share our information resources with friends, family and colleagues to get the conversation started around lymphoma and the symptoms of the condition.
- Order a resource pack and take it to your local GP surgery and pharmacy so they can display the materials and stay informed about our services.
- Raise funds by taking part in our Big BCAM Cakey bake, taking on a challenge of your choice or joining #TeamLymphoma on our double zip line challenge! Or you can fundraise your way – we are always blown away by how creative people are in showing their support for people affected by lymphoma!
- Use the power of social media to raise awareness and send messages of support around the globe on World Lymphoma Awareness Day on the 15 September.
- Share your personal experience with lymphoma to help people understand why this campaign matters.
