Will you take on our Big Hair Dare?

Lock your lops, do a head shave or dye your hair to show your support for people affected by lymphoma.

We are inviting everyone to take part in the Big Hair Dare to show their support for people affected by lymphoma, the UK’s fifth most common cancer. By raising vital funds and awareness, you will help us provide even more people with the information and support they need during their lymphoma diagnosis, treatment and beyond.

Our wonderful supporter, James took part in the Big Hair Dare by shaving his head. Combined with funds raised by taking part in the Bath Half Marathon, James has raised £3,615 to support our work. It is a cause close to his heart, as his wife Izzy received a diagnosis of Hodgkin lymphoma in 2020.

“My wife received her diagnosis in the year we were planning our wedding, and of course it was also the year that COVID hit” says James. “It quickly went from being an exciting, happy year to one of confusion, new worries and unknowns. My wife’s medical team recommended Lymphoma Action during her early consultations, and she found a great deal of strength in hearing stories from other people living with lymphoma. The feeling that there is a support network out there when you’re feeling a bit lost can have a huge positive impact, and it did just that by providing a sense of connection and togetherness.”

“Since then, Lymphoma Action has been my number one charity when it comes to raising funds and awareness” he adds. “I coupled the Big Hair Dare with completing the Bath Half Marathon, and I was really pleased with how much I was able to raise for a Charity close to my heart. I felt like I could support others affected by lymphoma, by giving back to a Charity that makes such a big difference in so many ways.”
