Thanks to all who joined us to talk lymphoma!

Published on: 1 October 2024

We are so grateful to everyone who has joined us this Blood Cancer Awareness Month. Your support will help us make sure no one faces lymphoma alone.

Lymphoma Action supporters

This September saw the return of our Let’s talk lymphoma campaign for Blood Cancer Awareness Month. This year we went ever bigger, and thanks to our wonderful supporters this September was our biggest Blood Cancer Awareness Month ever!

There are so many highlights from the month to share:

  • 1,100 people came forward to talk about lymphoma with us, including 81 hospitals! It was wonderful to see so many people taking our awareness packs to their local GPs and pharmacies to display posters about the symptoms of lymphoma, and raise all important awareness about the UK’s fifth most common cancer!
  • 61 supporters signed up to take part in our double zip challenge with Team Laura taking on the fastest zipline in the world at Velocity 2 in Wales, and Team Amy tackling the longest zipline in England at Hangloose Bluewater in Kent. Together, they raised over £16,000!
  • And speaking of fundraising, this year was our biggest Blood Cancer Awareness month ever with £90,000 raised so far to support our work!  From marathons to music festivals, charity football matches to 24 mile hikes, we are truly grateful to the hundreds of people who have shown their support for people affected by lymphoma.
  • Over on social media, with your support our Lymphoma Symptoms animation was viewed over 100,000 times and we reached almost 200,000 people with our symptoms icons. We also joined TikTok this month, with our videos receiving over 13,000 views (and counting!)

We are so grateful to the many people who shared their experiences with lymphoma, whether that was through sharing their personal story for our website, with the press or on social media.

World Lymphoma Awareness Day also saw our community spread the word about lymphoma on a global scale by sharing lymphoma stories, facts and support.

We were delighted to see so many people getting involved in awareness about the UK’s most common blood cancer, and raising funds to support our work.

To each and every one of you, thank you.
