The Big Give Christmas Challenge has started!

We are excited to be part of The Big Give Christmas Challenge again for 2023. Every donation made to our campaign on The Big Give website between 12 midday on Tuesday 28 November and 12 midday on Tuesday 5 December will be match funded – meaning it will be doubled at no extra cost to you. Your support will help us develop our new Preparing for Treatment service, so we can do more to support people who have recently been diagnosed with lymphoma as they get ready for treatment, as well as those on active monitoring who may have treatment ahead of them.

Our supporter Lesley was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2017. She believes that a service like Preparing for Treatment would have really helped her throughout her experience of diagnosis and treatment.

“It was like being caught in a swirling river and you’re trying to find stepping stones to help you across” she says. “Just getting information and support helps you to feel a bit more secure and find the next step”.

“Even though I had been a nurse, lymphoma was all new to me” adds Lesley. “I called the Lymphoma Action helpline, which was great, but I hit a brick wall about three months into my treatment – because I had no preparation for what was happening to me. If there had been a service to help me prepare for treatment, I could have gone into chemotherapy better informed, and I would have understood more about what lymphoma is, how I could have prepared myself for what was to come and what I needed to do next”.
