Our September Special Focus Support Meeting will focus on ‘Mindfulness’. Anyone affected by lymphoma is welcome to join this session between 6.30pm and 7.30pm, including family, friends and carers.

A lymphoma diagnosis can impact on both your physical and mental health which is why it so important to look after your emotional wellbeing. Mindfulness aims to help you be in the present moment. It encourages you to pay attention to your physical surroundings, to how your body feels and to thoughts as they come in and out of your mind. There is some evidence that mindfulness has positive effects on the psychological wellbeing in people with cancer. Joining us in this session will be guest speaker Angela Waind, a consultant counselling psychologist, who will give a short talk and a guided mindfulness session. There will also be the opportunity for attendees to ask questions, and talk to others who have similar experiences.

Our Special Focus Support Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month and focus on a different lymphoma-related topic each time. Anyone affected by that particular topic is welcome to attend. For further information on our full range of support meetings, please visit our Online Support Meetings page.
