Lymphoma Action supports national campaign to showcase health information

Published on: 2 July 2018

Health Information Week is an annual campaign to promote the quality health resources available.

Health Information Week July 2-8 2018

This week (2-8 July) is Health Information Week and we are supporting the campaign by highlighting the range of information that we provide about lymphoma.

Lymphoma is a complex type of cancer and our award-winning information and publications and About lymphoma webpages can help people affected by lymphoma better understand their, or their loved one’s, diagnosis, treatment, and life beyond lymphoma.

We are delighted to support this campaign as we fully understand the importance of good quality health information and how it can help empower people to fully understand the complexities of lymphoma.

Anne Hook, our publishing manager

Our lymphoma publications are written by experienced medical writers, in close collaboration with medical advisers with expertise in the appropriate field, and we also involve people affected by lymphoma in reviewing our resources.

We produce our information using nationally recognised guidelines, including the DISCERN tool for information about treatments, the NHS Toolkit for producing patient information, and the Plain English campaign guidelines. We are also a certified member of The Information Standard independent quality assurance scheme, which is supported by the Department of Health.

Each day this week, the campaign will promote a particular theme from healthy lifestyles and mental health through to patient stories and partnerships using the hashtag #HIW2018 - follow us on Twitter @LymphomaAction to learn more about our health information.
