We are delighted to be able to launch our Young People’s Live your Life programme, which will go live with our first workshop in Cambridge on 3 February.

Over the next 18 months, thanks to a £18,860 grant from the BUPA UK Foundation, we will hold eight Young People’s Live your Life workshops around the UK for 18-30 year olds who have been diagnosed with lymphoma. The workshops are aimed at helping them to manage their physical and mental health and wellbeing after treatment and in the longer-term.

Each of the one-day workshops, which are an extension of our existing Life your Life health and wellbeing survivorship programme, will be held near to the UK’s teenage and young adult cancer treatment centres and will be facilitated by a young person who has had lymphoma.

Around 160 young people across the UK are expected to benefit from the workshops. The first event will take place on 3 February at the Signal Box Centre in Cambridge, followed by events in Birmingham, Cardiff, and Edinburgh.

Helen Mee, our education and training manager, said: ‘The Young People’s Live your Life workshops will not only provide specialist information and support relevant to a younger audience but also an opportunity to meet other young people in a relaxed and informal setting where they can share experiences and support one another.’

Topics covered in the workshops include returning to work or university after treatment, fertility and relationships, and the emotional impact of cancer.
