Who we are

We are the UK’s only charity dedicated to lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer. We're here to make sure that nobody faces lymphoma alone.

Our staff and volunteers work hard to make sure that everyone affected by lymphoma in the UK has the best possible information, support, treatment and care. To achieve this, we work closely with our Trustees and our Medical Advisory Panel.

Together we help people with lymphoma and their families by providing reliable information and the right support. We support doctors and nurses so that they can provide the best care possible to people with lymphoma. We raise awareness and make sure that lymphoma is not forgotten by government and policymakers. We support the thousands of fundraisers and volunteers who make our work possible.

Our Patron

Lord Menzies Campbell has been Lymphoma Action’s Patron since 2016. Lord Campbell is probably best known as the leader of the Liberal Democrat party, a position he held from March 2006 until October 2007.

Lord Campbell’s career is an esteemed and varied one. In 1964 he competed in the Tokyo Olympic Games, and he held the British record for the 100 metres sprint from 1967 until 1974. He went on to focus on a legal career before entering politics in 1987. Lord Campbell is currently a member of the House of Lords.

Lord Campbell was diagnosed and treated for non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2002, continuing to work as a Member of Parliament during this period. After successful treatment, he continued his political career before stepping down as an MP in 2015 after 27 years.

Lord Campbell says: “Lymphoma Action’s work plays an important role in so many people’s lives, not only by supporting people living with a lymphoma diagnosis, but also their loved ones by providing the mechanisms to help them cope with treatment and recovery. I feel very privileged to be a part of it, and I am honoured to be the Patron of Lymphoma Action.”
