Monday 16 March is National Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist Day 2026. This is a day to highlight the incredibly important role a clinical nurse specialist (CNS) plays in providing expert care and support to cancer patients.
Your lymphoma CNS is often your key worker. They can help you understand your lymphoma diagnosis and its treatment, as well as provide practical and emotional support. You should be provided with their contact details and can contact them with any questions or concerns.
We would like to say a special thank you to all CNSs who care for people with lymphoma. We hear on a daily basis about the incredible difference they make to people’s lives.
My CNS directed me to the Lymphoma Action Facebook Support Group which I’m so grateful for. I was given the relevant Lymphoma Action books by my CNS too and would recommend people obtain these.
We would also like to acknowledge all the ways that nurses support the work we do to help us in our mission to make sure that no one faces lymphoma alone. This includes:
- reviewing and distributing our lymphoma information
- supporting our Live your Life self-management workshops held online and in-person throughout the UK to support people living with and beyond lymphoma
- generously giving their time to discuss lymphoma topics on videos, webinars, podcasts, and at events that we host for our community.
We re proud to support CNSs through education and training, including our free, online self-directed programme, Lymphoma Essentials.
