International Volunteers Day 2024
Published on: 5 December 2024A chance to recognise volunteers across the globe for their generosity.
Today we’re celebrating International Volunteers Day and we want to shine a light on how our community contributes to the wider number of over 1 billion people who volunteer worldwide.
Volunteers founded Lymphoma Action over 35 years ago and remain an integral part of what we do today. They help to deliver many of our services and make it possible for us to reach as many people as we do. Our volunteer community has an incredible impact, not only in supporting our mission to make sure no one has to face lymphoma alone, but also in inspiring others to get involved and make a difference.
I love my volunteering, absolutely love it, because I feel like it’s my mission to make sure that nobody faces lymphoma alone.
Our volunteers and our supporters who give their time informally all come together to make a huge difference for people affected by lymphoma. So far this year, our volunteers have given over 4,200 hours of their time through 871 activities and there were over 1,100 supporters who took part in our Blood Cancer Awareness Month campaign. Thank you all so much for your dedication and effort, it is hugely appreciated.
