'My team and I are excited to be coming to Glasgow on Saturday 8 September to deliver the first of our new regional conference series Lymphoma TrialsLink Live. The event is one of three planned and will coincide with blood cancer awareness month in September. The aim of the conference is to explore recent developments in the field of lymphoma treatment and how the latest research and innovations might change future practice.
Our venue in Glasgow is the modern conference venue ‘the Studio’ at 67 Hope Street, a stone’s throw from Glasgow Central railway station.The one day meeting will give people affected by lymphoma a chance to hear from expert speakers, find out more about local, regional and national support services and meet members of the Lymphoma Action team. In the afternoon we are running subtype specific parallel sessions which will give people attending an opportunity to meet other people with a similar diagnosis and ask the expert panel any questions. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
Dr Pam McKay, Consultant Haematologist at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and a member of Lymphoma Action’s Medical Advisory Panel is a keynote speaker in Glasgow and will be giving an overview of lymphoma clinical trials.'
Clinical trials are an integral part of patient care. They are required to test new treatment combinations to advance the current standard of care. Patient participation is crucial to improving care for themselves and future patients.
