Meeting day and time
We meet on the third Wednesday of every other month from 7.00 to 9pm.
Please see below for our meeting dates and other useful information.
17 July - Speaker: Mark Fennell, a local artist who charted his progress through treatment by a series of self-portraits
20 November - Speaker: Jilly Vickers, Regional Development Manager at Lymphoma Action, joins us for an update on the charity and takes your questions and feedback
We also meet for an informal coffee morning in alternate months, at a different venue. Information about these will be available at your first evening meeting.
Going to a meeting
Anyone affected by lymphoma can attend a Lymphoma Action support group. You don't have to book or even let us know beforehand that you are coming along - just turn up, you'll be made welcome.
There is no charge for attending a Lymphoma Action support group, though donations help us to continue to provide local support.
At your first meeting, you will complete a registration form, which also enables us to keep in touch with you about future meetings. You can request other types of information, including our popular Lymphoma matters magazine, on the same form.
You can attend our support groups as often and for as long as you need - you aren't expected to come to every meeting and don't have to tell us if you won't be there. If you move on but then want to come back, perhaps because of a change to your lymphoma, that's fine, too.
Going to a lymphoma support group for the first time can feel like a big step. If you would like to talk to someone about it, you are welcome to call the Freephone helpline on 0808 808 5555 (Mon-Fri 10am-3pm) or email us at email@example.com
If you would like to speak with the Aylesbury support group organiser before going to a meeting, you can call Pat on 01296 614062 or Theresa on 01525 221288.
Alternate months: Cancer Care and Haematology Unit, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury HP21 8AL
In other months, we meet informally for a coffee morning at a local venue. Information about these will be available at your first evening meeting.
Please see the hospital website for full directions.
Please note that directions from Stoke Mandeville have changed. From the A413 (Wendover Road) take the A410 (Station Road) into Stoke Manderville village. Turn right onto the B4339 (Lower Road) at the roundabout and continue past the hospital, the ambulance station and the Asda store to the next roundabout. Go all the way round the roundabout and back along Lower Road, towards the Asda store. Turn left into the hospital grounds and keep going until you see the CCHU building in front of you.
24 hour parking charges apply at the hospital. However, we can arrange free parking if you contact Pat on 01296 614062 or Theresa on 01525 221288, before your first meeting.
