35 year anniversary message from the CEO

Published on: 11 June 2021

On Saturday 12 June, we will be celebrating 35 years of supporting people affected by lymphoma. Our Chief Executive, Ropinder Gill, has recorded a special message to mark the occasion, and to thank all of our wonderful supporters.

Whilst 2021 remains a challenging year owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is still a special year for Lymphoma Action as we mark our 35 year anniversary. It is amazing to see how far we have come since 1986, and the impact we have made. It is safe to say that none of what we have achieved would have been possible without our wonderful supporters.

'We are proud to be the only UK charity dedicated to lymphoma, putting people affected by lymphoma at the very heart of what we do, and providing information and support as we have done through all these many years.'

Ropinder Gill, Chief Executive at Lymphoma Action

Throughout our anniversary year, we are having a special focus on ‘positive mental wellbeing’, as this reflects what we do every day in our work supporting people affected by lymphoma. Looking after your emotional and mental wellbeing is so important, and we have a host of resources that we hope you will find useful including wellbeing videos, podcasts and personal stories. Don’t forget that emotional support is always available from our helpline service, and we run a host of online support meetings, Live your Life workshops and webinars to inform, support and connect people affected by a lymphoma diagnosis.

We are inviting everyone to join us in celebrating our 35 year anniversary, and hope that you can support us in marking the occasion in any way you can. This could be as simple as leaving us an anniversary message, hosting your own Anniversary Tea Party or taking part in one of our other 35 year anniversary fundraising events, or even something as special as leaving a gift for us in your will.

We remain so grateful to all of our supporters, and are proud to have been making a difference for 35 years, so that nobody has to face lymphoma alone.
