About the programme
Lymphoma Essentials is a free, self-paced, online programme which aims to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge needed to enhance support for individuals with lymphoma and their families.
This programme has been made possible by contributions from our many wonderful supporters. We would also like to thank The Roger Counter Foundation, BeiGene, Janssen, Kyowa Kirin and Recordati for providing funding. As per our policy, funders have no influence over the course design, delivery or content. Find out more about how we work with healthcare and pharmaceutical companies.
The programme is hosted on an external online learning platform called Litmos and it allows you to select the courses you wish to take and decide the order in which to complete them. Each course offers videos, downloadable materials, resources, and signposting.
Currently, the topics covered include*:
what lymphoma is and how it develops
the different types and symptoms
how lymphoma is staged
an overview of the approach to treating symptoms.
*Please note that this is a new service, Therefore the above list is non-exhaustive and we will be adding more topics in the future.
Content includes presentations by various subject matter experts including Professor Andrew Davies, Professor of Haematological Oncology and Dr Dan Monnery, Consultant in Palliative Medicine. In addition to this, the programme includes insightful patient experience videos from individuals with lymphoma.
You will have access to a personal learner dashboard that tracks your training and saves your progress. You can return to the dashboard at any time to complete any unfinished courses. Additionally, you'll be able to download a certificate for each course you complete.
Watch Chrissie Kirby, Macmillan Haematology & Transfusion Clinical Nurse Specialist, explain more about the programme and why she would have found it hugely beneficial to her when she became a CNS.
The service is free, and you will need to register. Registration is a simple two-step process and you will be able to access the programme straightaway.
