This page has lots of information - and you don't need to go through it all right now! Please read or watch relevant sections as needed, rather than trying to fit it all in during one session.

Remember, the Volunteering Team are always here to help if you're having trouble.

Logging in for the first time?

You should have been sent an email with login instructions, including your temporary password. Follow the video below to log in for the first time and get started on the system.

Now that you're signed in, it's time to update your profile. Follow the video below to help you change and add details where needed. In particular, have a look at these tabs on your profile:

  • Details: You can add your diversity information (this will be anonymised) and accessibility requirements (if relevant). Add your experience of lymphoma under 'Other Details'.
  • Contacts: Decide whether you’d like to be included in the directory or the ‘near me’ map for other volunteers to see. Ensure all other information is correct and add any additional contact details.
  • Password & Privacy: Take time to read our Volunteer Agreement and remind yourself of the Lymphoma Action Volunteer Privacy Policy, as listed under terms for volunteering with us.

Assemble will notify you about requests from staff, new ways to get involved, updates for your volunteering and opportunities to connect with others.

Feel free to customise how and when you receive these by reviewing your notification settings, as shown in the video below. Please make sure you keep email notifications turned on so you don't miss important news!

Frequently asked questions

These questions have come from your feedback. If you have any others, please get in touch and we'll add them here!

Assemble provides a contact form for you to easily get in touch with the Volunteering Team. You can access this by clicking on ‘Contact us’ in the navigation menu.

(This option is in addition to using the message centre where you can chat individually with us.)

You can use the form to check-in and discuss your volunteering, ask questions and report any issues with Assemble. Everyone in the Volunteering Team is able to access this, so it’s helpful to use if you’d like to share something with all of us (rather than sending separate messages).

Yes, your volunteer manager will use Assemble to help support you in your role, alongside the Volunteering Team. You will be able to contact them securely via the message centre.

Yes, only volunteer managers and the Volunteering Team have access to your profile. There are options on the hub around communicating with other volunteers, but they will only be able to see your name and volunteer role (if you have consented to be contacted by others).

Lymphoma Action staff will always be able to contact you, to effectively manage your volunteering. You can choose whether other volunteers are able to initiate contact with you through the Contacts tab on your profile.

Under contact preferences, tick 'Appear in volunteer directory' to enable other volunteers to message you. Untick to disable this option. Other volunteers will never see any of your personal details beyond your name and volunteer role, regardless of this option.

When messaging volunteers and staff, please keep in mind our guidance about connecting with others on Assemble.

We share volunteering opportunities outside of your role through news articles, tasks and occasionally events. If an activity comes up that is time sensitive, we will send you an email through the message centre to let you know. Sometimes we might also assign an activity task to you directly, which will mean you'll receive a notification.

You are able to adjust your notification settings and choose how often you receive email overviews of your notifications, helping you keep connected with the Charity without constantly logging into the volunteer hub.

Please refer to your Volunteer User Guide and our poster on how to make the most of Assemble for more information.

The mobile app is available to download through your mobile app store. It replicates the main features of the web browser version of Assemble, allowing for easy access on the move. Its login will use your same username/email address and password.

We recommend exploring the web browser first as the mobile app does not have all features right now - however, Assemble are in the process of reviewing and updating it. We'll keep you posted about any changes!

You might hear us mention this! The Forum allows volunteers to interact with one another and contribute to discussions on a more informal basis. This feature isn't available yet, as we want to ensure proper guidance is in place first.

Forum topics and posts will be moderated by the Volunteering Team and a small group of volunteers. If you're interested in helping to moderate, please do get in touch with us.

The Volunteering Team is happy to offer support, or you can view the relevant Assemble Support pages listed in the Volunteer User Guide.
