Carers Week 2022: Support for carers
Published on: 6 June 2022It's Carers Week: a time to acknowledge the important role of unpaid carers.
We're here to support you if you are a carer for someone with lymphoma.
If you look after a family member or a friend who has lymphoma without being paid for it, you’re taking on the role of a carer. We know that this can bring a range of challenges and considerations, including those that are practical, physical, emotional and financial.
In line with the aims of Carers Week, here at Lymphoma Action we believe that carers should get the information and support they need, when they choose to access it.
Some of the ways that we can support you are as a carer are through our:
- Helpline Services – contact us by phone, email or Live Chat.
- Online Support meetings – a chance to meet others affected by lymphoma. We have a group specifically for friends, family and carers.
- Closed Facebook Support Group – brings people living with lymphoma and family members and friends together.
- Buddy Service – offers an opportunity to speak with another carer.
- When someone close to you has lymphoma book – available to download or order a printed copy, this book covers practical tips and emotional support.
Why not join us on Thursday 30 June, 12.30–1.30 when we will be holding a webinar, ‘Sources of support for family, friends and carers’? We have invited representatives from Citizens Advice, Carers UK and Maggie’s to join us and explain the services they provide nationally and locally to support carers. Book your free place.
