On Time to Talk Day, our Information and Support Officers encourage anyone affected by lymphoma to contact our Helpline Services if they need someone to talk to.


Time to Talk Day 2020

It’s Time to Talk Day which encourages people to be open and talk about their mental health to help others and reduce the stigma around mental health problems.

A diagnosis of lymphoma can have a big impact on your mental health - whether you are the one diagnosed yourself, or you are a family member or friend of someone affected. Often, it can be difficult to talk about your feelings with those closest to you, so you might prefer to talk to one of our Information and Support Officers who run our Helpline Services.

Our Helpline Services are available Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm. You can call on 0808 808 5555 (and press option 1), email information@lymphoma-action.org.uk or use Live Chat via our website (the pop-up in the bottom right-hand of the screen).  

You don’t need a reason to call. A lot of people don’t know where to start, and that is absolutely okay. We are just here if you want to talk.

Our Information and Support Officers, add:

‘Our Helpline Services are here to offer information on lymphoma, emotional support and a listening ear. More and more, we are offering emotional support.

People call us at different stages: worried about symptoms, just after a diagnosis, on active monitoring, at the start of treatment, at the end of treatment, and when trying to get back to ‘normal’ life and beyond. At these different stages, people come to us with all sorts of feelings. We also get calls from family, friends, and sometimes employers.

Our Helpline is for anyone affected by lymphoma. It is a confidential service. If you want, your call can be anonymous. We treat all calls individually, and you can call us once, or you can call us a number of times.’

If English is not your first language, or you would just prefer to talk to us in another language, you can speak to us through the interpreting service Language Line.
